Pastor Jack Bynum...
We are all on a journey through life and, while there are many similarities in our journeys, we have all traveled on different roads...taken many detours...sometimes onto a dead-end street... and even gone in circles. My journey began in Pensacola, Florida and lasted 14 years there. I moved to Hawaii and attended High School for 3 years and graduated there. I went into the Army a couple of years later and served in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division. Upon leaving the Army, I immediately went to college in Oregon, and graduated in 1973 with a B.S. in Law Enforcement/Criminology. A few months later, I was in Tennessee serving as a police officer. Four years later, I met and married Bobbie, moved to California, was blessed with 4 children, then moved to Idaho and became involved with the Eagle UMC. Three years later, I felt God's call upon my life, responded to the Holy Spirit and moved to Ohio to attend United Theological Seminary. (sounds crazy, huh?). After graduating seminary, I returned to the Oregon-Idaho Conference and was appointed to Jerome UMC in Idaho..then to Oakridge UMC in Oregon... then to Baker City UMC in Oregon and now I am appointed to Southside Boulevard UMC in Nampa, Idaho. Along the way, God has blessed our household in too many ways to put on a list. I wish I could say the "trip" has always been pleasant, but it hasn't. There have been many trials and tribulations, as the Bible puts it. I can say, however, through it all, God has been faithful (much more than me) and has provided us a path to follow and strength for the journey! In Christ, -Pastor Jack Bynum |
